Warning to lawn care operators: Noncompliant signs will result in fines

As reported in Horticulture Review, the Ministry of Environment (MOE) has warned all licensed exterminators that only pesticide use signs conforming to Regulation 914 of the Pesticides Act will be accepted this spring.

The MOE indicated they will take enforcement action if non-compliant pesticide signs are found in use this year. Regulation 914 states that lawn care operators are required to notify the public of pesticide use for a land extermination and clearly sets out the requirements in terms of format, wording, the size of letters, allowable logos, etc.
