Turf Revolution demonstrates lawn care options in Milton
The lawn care provider’s tool box is shrinking each month, as municipalities continue to ban the use of pesticides. To show the industry there are effective, affordable organic treatments, Turf Revolution is conducting a demonstration of four different approaches to lawn care at Landscape Ontario’s Milton site.
Turf Revolution’s Tammy Lawrence explains the project is designed and sponsored by Turf Revolution, but will be carried out by an independent lawn care operator, and monitored monthly by two different LO members. Five, non-irrigated turf plots will be maintained and monitored during the 2006 growing season: a control plot, one receiving the Turf Revolution Kiss program (Keep It Simple and Scientific), one with the Turf Revolution Ultimate Kiss program and cultural practices, one receiving the Ultimate home lawn program (on the back of Turf Revolution retail product bags) and one will receive a conventional lawn care program including weed-control applications. The plots are numbered, with only Turf Revolution and the lawn care operator knowing which plot is receiving which treatment.
Lawrence says the demonstration project will provide information to the industry on a variety of different lawn care management processes. The results of this study will be available to all LO members upon completion of the project. For more information, visit www.turfrevoultion.com.
