Support Ontario Youth and Landscape Ontario present Horticulture Tools in the Trades Boot Camp March 14, 2022 |
| Support Ontario Youth and Landscape Ontario Horticultural Trades Association are offering youth and adult job seekers, who are interested in learning about landscape and horticulture, a one-day training hands-on opportunity. The Horticulture Tools in the Trades Boot Camp will be held on March 14th at the Landscape Ontario’s Head office in Milton.
This is an excellent opportunity for job seekers
to gain an understanding of the field as well as meet potential employers. Up to 30 individuals, divided into two teams, will take part in this 1-day event which will include a 1/2 day in-class session where they will learn about employability skills such as resume writing, interviewing skills, workplace etiquette, and financial planning; and a 1/2 day experiential learning session where teams of 5 work together to complete activities in: Technology (1 of the following) Planting (both) Construction An Employer Panel will take place during the lunch break to allow participants can ask questions to gain insight into the horticulture trades. After lunch the teams will switch to do the opposite activity to finish out the day.
