New general manager for Canada Blooms

Gerry Ginsberg has been appointed general manager of Canada Blooms.

Ginsberg brings a wealth of festival and event experience to Canada Blooms. In the early 1980’s he served as executive director of London’s major tourist attraction, Storybook Gardens. After 12 years of success in Southwestern Ontario, Gerry was recruited to start up a new corporation – Video Baseball which allowed fans to face major league interactive pitchers in major league stadiums.

In 1995 Ginsberg became the general manager of the Niagara Grape and Wine Festival. Under Ginsberg’s leadership, the Festival became one of the largest annual celebrations in Canada attracting an estimated audience of over 350,000 visitors to the Niagara Region each September and providing an economic impact of over $30 million.

In 2006, Ginsberg joined the Edison Festival of Light in Fort Myers, Florida as a management consultant to assist a dedicated board of directors in the development of a long term plan for the annual celebration of world famous inventor Thomas Alva Edison.

Ginsberg looks forward to working with Landscape Ontario, the Garden Club of Toronto and all organizations associated with Canada Blooms to bring this event to new levels of success in 2007-08 and future years.
