Memo: MOE blitz on lawn care signs

Memo to: Lawn Care Group

Re: Ministry of Environment Lawn Care Blitz

We have been informed by the Ministry of Environment that there is a regulation blitz underway to make sure that the industry complies with Ministry regulations. Over 100 abatement officers as well as a number of enforcement “swat teams” are involved.

Please make sure that you are following all regulations in order to avoid fines. Areas to be aware of include:

  1. Proper posting. This includes size of sign, size of lettering on the sign, distance between signs, proper information on the sign and time frames.
  2. Ensure that all of your staff are licensed or are carrying their Pesticide Technician Cards and logs.
  3. Ensure that there are proper training records for your staff in case they ask to see them in your office.
  4. Ensure that pesticides are not left unattended on your truck.
  5. Proper Pesticide Storage.

Have a great season.
