Join members of the LO Ottawa Chapter for the 5th Annual Day of Tribute on Fri., Nov. 5, at the National Memorial Cemetery at Beechwood Cemetery. Chainsaw safety course, Nov. 8-9

The
Ministry of Labour requires that all landscapers using chainsaws on
the job are trained on their safe operation. This two-day seminar on
Nov. 8 and 9 helps satisfy these requirements. The second day will be
spent in the field working on techniques and safe operation while
cutting trees. Both seminars begin each day at 8:30 a.m., and go until 4

In memoriam

George Rofner, owner of Richmond Nursery passed away peacefully, in his sleep, Sat., Oct. 23, at the age of 73. Beloved husband of Claudia (nee Mattel). Loving father of Peter (Sue Secord) and Debbie (Curt Millar). Cherished grandfather of Jakob. Dear brother of Hedwig and Mali, both of Germany. Will be fondly remembered by his family and friends in Germany and Canada. Friends may pay respects at the Kelly Funeral Home, 580 Eagleson Road, Kanata, on Sat., Oct. 30, from 2 – 4p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. The funeral mass will be held Mon. Salt application study looking for participants
The Snow and Ice Management Sector Group of Landscape Ontario has commissioned a research study aimed at developing an optimum and defensible standard for salt application rates for parking lots. The research team wants to extend the data collection outside the Waterloo area. between the ages of 25 to 38, with a strong portfolio of work. Television

The 2011 Safety Groups Program is set to begin a new season. Designed to promote health and safety in
the workplace, this program provides mentoring, pooling of
resources and sharing of best practices between member firms, their
sponsor and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board (WSIB). Member
firms can receive, along with improved safety records, financial
benefits in the form of rebates from the WSIB.
The Safety Groups Program is administered by the WSIB. It has received high approval ratings from
