LO hosts EAB grower update on July 31

New finds of emerald ash borer have recently been confirmed in Oakville and Ottawa, in addition to Brampton and Toronto. As this pest spreads throughout southern Ontario, quarantines and restrictions will affect the movement of Fraxinus nursery stock.

Brian Hamilton of CFIA has agreed to meet with the nursery industry to inform them of the latest information on positive finds of EAB and CFIA’s anticipated actions and to answer any questions. As he is aware of the serious impacts of quarantine actions on the nursery sector, he is prepared to meet with the industry this week on Thursday, July 31 at 1:00 p.m. at the Landscape Ontario home office in Milton. RSVP if you plan to attend the meeting to Kathleen Pugliese at kpugliese@landscapeontario.com or by calling 1-800-265-5656, ext. 309.
