LO Growers Group reseach meeting eblast

Please read below for important details about two upcoming meetings for nursery growers:

Nursery Growers Research Meeting
Just like last year, prior to the fall growers dinner we will host the Nursery Growers Research Meeting on November 26 at Landscape Ontario starting at noon.

The draft agenda is attached, which is similar to what was covered last year. The agenda will be finalized in early November so please let Cassie know if you have any comments.

Please RSVP to Lauralee if you plan to attend the Growers Group Annual Research/Minor Use Priorities Meeting on November 26.

RSVP to Lauralee before Tuesday, November 19 so that we can get numbers for lunch.

IPM Meeting
Something new we are trying this year is having a separate IPM meeting, prior to the research meeting.

For those of you who have a dedicated staff member at your nursery that is heavily involved in or a key decision maker on the IPM programs, please provide their contact to Cassie (cassie.russell@ontario.ca) in a separate email.

About this meeting: Cassie is organizing an in-person meeting with IPM nursery staff and decision makers in November, prior to the research meeting. A tentative date for the IPM meeting is November 19, likely at the Landscape Ontario office which will be confirmed shortly.

The agenda of this IPM meeting will include:

• A round table on pest struggles
• Discussions about what products are working, what gaps exist, etc.

This information will help feed into minor use pest priority selections (rankings will not be finalized at this meeting, but will be finalized at the research meeting on Nov. 26).

This IPM meeting will also provide an opportunity for staff to network with others who focus on IPM programs at their nursery and provide suggestions for talks and topics for the winter’s IPM scout training and workshops.

Please consider sending ONE relevant staff member from your nursery to attend this in-person meeting. Note this is not a training workshop.
