Leadership Development Day 2008
— Professional development and orientation for our governance
All chapter board, commodity group and provincial board members are encouraged to attend on Thursday, December 11, 2008, at the LO Home Office in Milton for the annual meeting of LO Governance.
This exciting development day has been designed to help the valued volunteers of our association fulfill their roles as leaders of our association, and help them succeed in business.
| Morning session begins promptly at 8:30 a.m. In this unique presentation, Eric Trogdon, a certified Mediator and SWAT Hostage Negotiator, will identify the surprisingly simple STEPS to building your toolbox for handling working groups. The program will highlight building relationships, the dynamics of meetings and committees, Robert’s Rules and proper negotiations. |
Afternoon sessions begin at 12:30 p.m.
In an effort to give the most educational value possible, we have the split the afternoon into two parts. You may choose to attend one of the following:
| Session A: Special session for governance members only Jacki Hart is presenting a condensed version of the prosperity partners program introductory session. Prosperity starts with profitability, and includes balancing your life to make time for your goals that reach beyond business. There is more to life than just work, and this program is designed to enable you to enjoy both! Participants will be able to promote the program to their chapters, groups and peers after this session. | ||

| Session B: Moderated by Tony DiGiovanni, LO’s Executive Director This discussion group will focus on specific LO board/group issues such as roles and responsibilities, strategic planning at the chapter level and the state of the economy. Please ensure that some of your board/commodity group members are in attendance at each session. |
