COVID-19 - Resources

“Safety companies working in the landscape business”

Helping members implement new safety protocols is a top priority for LO’s Covid-19 Task Force. Today, we hosted a webinar titled Outdoor Work and Covid-19, featuring representatives from the Ministry of Labour, Workplace Safety and Prevention Services and the Workplace Safety and Insurance Board. Watch the webinar here.

The experts also shared their presentations, which include timely, relevant information and extensive links. The three presentations are combined for download here:

LO’s Covid-19 Resource Hub is the go-to resource for credible information important for your business. If you have not visited recently, you will find provincial safety guidelines there, including Lawn and Landscape GuidelinesGarden Centre GuidelinesTransportation of Workers to Work Locations and Safety Information for Drivers and Truck Drivers. Browse the FAQ section, ask your own question, find sources for PPE or connect with a mentor.

Landscape companies are now released to work — safely — across the province, and hope is strong that garden centres will be allowed to host customers soon. We will keep members posted.

What about the future? LO President Dave Wright says it best: "We need to become safety companies who happen to work in the landscape business."
