Back by popular demand, Randy and Jason from Tumber and Associates will guide you through one of their awe inspiring dream projects. From the first phone call to the final payment, learn how they handle all aspects of the design process and installation.

(2) Sustainable Site Initiative – Melanie Sifton NPD, MPS, Humber Arboretum and Centre for Urban Ecology

Is sustainability such a vague notion at times that no one really knows how to implement it? Melanie Sifton’s recent research at Cornell University entertains just that, sustainable landscape
design and maintenance practices. She is currently working on Sustainable Sites Initiative
(www.sustainablesites.org) and is in the process of developing guidelines and credits for certifying sustainable landscapes of all types throughout North America. The SSI system is slated to become the landscape component of LEED by 2012. Melanie will present elements of SSI and other sustainable landscape design tools and strategies.

Marc Saltzman will discuss the latest tech trends, products and services to help designers become more productive on the go. Marc will demonstrate new products that designers can spec in their jobs, including plant sensors, weatherproof televisions, rock-shaped outdoor speakers and solar-powered lighting options.

Have you ever had a client conflict? Wish you had been equipped with more skill and tactics to salvage the situation? Who better than Eric Trogdon, former hostage negotiator to talk us out of these sticky situations? Learn from Eric some of the finer points of negotiation.
