There is no doubt that the interior landscaping sector is picking up steam. With so many offices, shopping malls and complexes moving towards better building health, an interior garden installation is the first choice among property managers, business owners and their staff. This result comes after years of promoting the benefits of gardens, whether indoors or out, to the health and overall well-being of a company’s employees.

Landscape Ontario’s Interiorscape Commodity Group is behind much of this promotion, with its members working to bring the interiorscape message to the masses. Promotion within the trade is also an important mandate of the group, and as such, the Interiorscape Group is set to host its second annual Interiorscape Trade Show and Conference on September 16 at the LO Horticultural Centre in Milton.

While the roster is not yet confirmed, the line-up of speakers is expected to be a who’s who catalogue of interiorscape experts, including Lynn Griffith, Graeme Murphy and Randy King, as well as representatives from Plants at Work. The group will also use this forum to promote its Interiorscape Certification program, the Certified Horticultural Technician – Interior, delivered and administered through the Canadian Nursery Landscape Association and the Associated Landscape Contractors of America, now the Professional Landcare Network (PLANET).

A list of trade show exhibitors is in the works, with representation from the Ontario marketplace. Air Quality Solutions, Key West Tropicals Ltd. and CWI – Plant Maintenance Group have all confirmed their participation.
