Hope for the insurance crisis: Act today!
 
Dear members,
 
We have an opportunity to make a real impact on snow insurance rates. However, you must act soon. Bill 118 is a proposed Act put forward by MPP Norm Miller. If passed, it will reduce the Statute of Limitations from two years to 10 days. The Bill has already gone through two readings and will now go to Committee. 

We need you to register to make a deputation before the committee, or at the very least, send in a written submission. If chosen to make a presentation, all you have to do is tell your story. (How long have you been in business? How many people do you employ?  How have escalating rates or difficulty in obtaining insurance affected you?  etc.)    

 
Please register before Wednesday, November 4.  
Visit  https://www.ola.org/en/apply-committees and do the following:
 
  • Choose a topic: Click Yes, you know the bill title then choose Bill 118 from the drop-down menu.
  • Click Next Page.
  • Choose an application: Click Request to appear if you are willing to do that, and then click Monday, November 9 when that comes up. If you are unable to appear you can click Submit material only and send a written deputation.
  • Click Next Page.
  • Add your information: Choose whether you are requesting to appear as an individual or as a representative of an organization, and then fill in your contact information.
  • Preview and complete: Click Preview to review the information you have submitted and then click Submit.
