In memoriam: Wim Levert

The horticultural industry is saddened by the loss of one of its long-standing members. Wim Levert passed away May 26 after a short, but courageous, battle with cancer. He was 52.

A funeral service was held for Levert on May 31 at the Unitarian Congregation of South Peel in Mississauga. A reception at the Levert family home was held immediately following the service.

Always a gentleman, Levert was known throughout the industry, working with Ontario nurseries like Mori Nurseries and Brookdale Treeland Nurseries, most recently employed by Sheridan Nurseries of Georgetown. He had also worked for several years as a real estate agent, specializing in horticultural properties. Levert arranged the sale of the Milton site to Landscape Ontario in 1994.

He leaves behind wife Debbie and young son Tim.
