Sibylla Dorothea Peters, co-founder of Humber Nurseries

Sibylla Dorothea Peters, co-founder of Humber Nurseries, passed away on Thurs., May 12, 2011,
at Woodhall Retirement Village, Brampton, at the age of 92. 

Friends will be received at the Ward Funeral Home, 4671 Hwy. 7 (west of Pine Valley Dr.), Woodbridge, 905-851-9100, on Mon., May 16, from 2-4 and 6-9 p.m.                                  

A Catholic Mass will be held on Tues., May 17, at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Airways Parish, 7407 Darcel Ave., Mississauga. Burial will take place at Queen of Heaven Cemetery
(Hwy. 27, south of Hwy. 7). Memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated by the family.

Sibylla Dorothea Peters was the loving wife of the late Frans L.Peters, and beloved mother of Sibylla Sikking (deceased), (Henk), Frans G. (Vita), Astrid (Harry) and Guy (Elaine). Much loved "Oma" to Wesley (Kelly), Henk Jr. (Kristen), Monica (Ron), Anita (Richard), Peter, Frans Jr. (Michelle), and Travis (Anna). "Great Oma" of Katelyn, Declan, Carter, Skylar and Cassandra. Sibylla will also be greatly missed by her extended family members and all her friends.

Sibylla and Frans L. Peters began Humber Nurseries in 1948. To mark her 75th birthday in 1998, Sibylla Peters was honoured with a hybrid tea-pink fragrant rose named "Mrs. S. Peters." A complete history on the family may be found at Humber Nurseries.
