GROW Program 08-2020

Dear Toronto and Golden Horseshoe Chapter Members,

We are thrilled to announce that Landscape Ontario, in partnership with SkillsAdvance Ontario (SAO), funded in part by the Government of Canada and the Government of Ontario are developing and delivering an innovative training program based on industry member feedback that will develop in demand new entrant workers. Participants will receive 4 weeks of basic technical and soft skills training and additional resources, to enter into promising careers in the Landscape and Horticultural Industry in the Toronto, Hamilton and Muskoka/Kawartha regions.

Employer Opportunities in fall 2020:
LO is seeking employers who will:

1. offer a paid one- to two-week work placement opportunity to graduates in late September or early October, 2020, and/or,
2. provide employment to right-fit candidates following the work placement starting in October, 2020 for the balance of the season.

Note: (These are to be entry level positions with wages ranging from $15-18/hr with the goal that if the right fit worker, it may lead to full-time employment.
