Good afternoon,

Thank you to everyone who made it out to Governance 2020!

We had a great day of discussions and sharing. It was most impressive to see all of the amazing things going on in the Chapters across Ontario.

Here are some highlights that came out of this year’s Governance:

  • Chapters have gone digital! All Chapter Board members will be invited to their respective Chapter’s Google Drive folder. Going forward, this will be where all minutes are stored, event registration is tracked, meeting and event topics are listed as well as templates and chapter resources.
  • With the new membership categories now in effect, we need the help of the Chapters to help track professional development. Please upload your meeting sign-in or attendance sheets to the Google Drive so that we can help keep track of the professional development hours of our members. If you want a template, let me know!
  • We are looking for 1 volunteer from each Chapter to sit on our new Governance Committee. The time commitment will be very minimal and will involve 1-2conference calls in preparation for Governance. Please discuss this at your next Chapter Board meeting.
  • We will be exploring options for an online platform to encourage communication between Chapters. 
  • We will be looking to develop ‘sponsor packages’. This will enable the Landscape Ontario’s sales team to help find sponsors for chapter meetings and special events by packaging a variety of advertising options. 
We will be uploading the notes and best practices taken at Governance to the Google Drive shortly.
