E-news starts its bi-weekly summer schedule

Starting this week, LO This Week will begin a
bi-weekly schedule. The next newsletter will broadcast on May 18.
The regular weekly schedule will resume in some time in July, when activities
for the season begin to increase.

Support Foundation and win cash

Apprenticeship tax credit
Apprenticeship Job Creation Tax Credit is a non-refundable tax credit
equal to 10 per cent of the eligible salaries and wages payable to
apprentices in respect of employment after May 1, 2006. The maximum
credit an employer can claim is $2,000 per year. The contract must be
registered with the federal, or provincial government under an
apprenticeship program in Red Seal Trade. If you are an employer, you
may claim the credit on your Individual Income Tax Return, on line 412 –
Investment tax credit, by filing Form T2038(IND), Investment Tax Credit
(Individuals). Go to Canada Revenue for more information.

Students can apply for flowerbulb scholarship

The North American Flowerbulb Wholesalers Association is offering
students a $1,500 scholarship. The successful applicant must be a
student in a field related to flowerbulbs in some form, in the academic
year 2011-2012. All application forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. July
31, 2011, attached with a 400- to 500-word essay about flowerbulbs. The
successful applicant will be notified by Dec. 20, 2011. To find out more

Certification practical test, July 22

Industry Certification practical test on Fri., July 22 at the Landscape Ontario
home office. We are currently accepting registrations for both new test and
