Energy savings for LO members
Landscape Ontario has partnered with FireFly Energy to provide savings on energy rates to the landscape industry. This new partnership will provide LO member companies and their employees with discounts of 1 cent per m3 consumed for natural gas and0.05 cents per kWh consumed for electricity.
FireFly Energy specializes in managing natural gas and electricity for agricultural operations. As a division of Ag Energy Co-operative, FireFly is able to offer the advantages of large-scale group buying regardless. FireFly Energy offers long-term, fixed-price natural gas and electricity contracts. According to www.energyshop.com, an industry monitoring website, FireFly Energy is the most affordably priced energy provider on the market (at time of the agreement). Businesses often lock into a fixed rate contract to avoid energy price fluctuations and guarantee overhead costs.
“This program is an exciting new way for Landscape Ontario to provide more value to its members and help the industry as a whole become better managed and more stable,” says Denis Flanagan, LO’s membership services manager. The Canadian Nursery Landscape Association (CNLA) will administer this program on behalf of LO.
