JOURNEY THROUGH THE DECADES OF ROCK

The King of Rock and Roll – Elvis Presley! Often touted as the one who actually started Rock ‘n Roll, from his roots with country and R&B music, Elvis is the only performer to have been inducted into 4 music “Halls of Fame” (Rock ‘n Roll, Country, Rockabilly and Gospel). No musical tribute would be complete without a visit from “The King”.

Mick Jagger, as lead singer of the Rolling Stones, is one of the most dynamic, energetic and influential musicians in the history of Rock ‘n Roll. For over 40 years, Jagger has been the frontman for the Stones. He has also pursued a stellar solo career for the past 20 years. He is truly a rock legend!

Billy Joel quit school to become a full-time musician. After making a meagre living as a studio musician and trying to make it with a number of different bands through the early 1970s, Joel finally found stardom in 1977 and has remained a chart-topper for decades. Even today, he has one of the top 100 downloaded songs on iTunes with “Piano Man”.

The 1980s are the decade where Rock ‘n Roll moved towards what e now consider pop music. This decade can hardly be described without including one of music’s top icon – Madonna. From her very first album she found success. And to this day, Madonna continues to be one of the best-selling recording artists of all times –

That’s what has made her a true musical legend.
