Calling all horticulture students and classes! Register today to take advantage of this unique opportunity! Share your ideas, network, build leadership and entrepreneurial skills at Snap Dragon’s Den (Landscape Ontario Congress edition).  Create a 10-minute pitch to present to a panel of esteemed judges addressing one of the following topics.
 

  1. Present a new product or invention to the panel that will help landscape horticulture professionals
  2. Create a business proposal that provides a solution to a current challenge or obstacle (seasonality, employee retention, weather etc.) faced by the landscape horticulture profession

 Landscape Contractors: The new Eco Warriors

In the face of climate change, there is a new normal in the urban environment, including extreme weather events that cause massive flooding or immense droughts. The landscape contractor will be an essential participant at the table, developing solutions to mitigating damage to municipal ecosystems. Such solutions will be discussed, alongside integrated landscape management strategies. The need for participation from citizen scientists in these solutions will be emphasized.
 
IPM SYMPOSIUM

7:30am-4pm

 
The key to turf IPM is the use of cultural practices that optimize growth of grasses and minimize conditions favorable to pest insects, weeds, or pathogens. Landscape Ontario’s Integrated Pest Management (IPM) Symposium has been a uniquely respected event since 1965.

We had a fantastic time at the Horticulture Educator Professional Development Day! Thank you to all who came out! Landscape Ontario and the Horticulture Educators Association (HEA) look forward to staying connected, sharing resources and developing future events and experiential learning days together!
