Two leading green industry members announced a joint project under the name Green Forum. In 2009, Landscape Ontario and Communities in Bloom will present the event at Canada’s largest award-winning horticultural lawn and garden trade show that attracts more than 12,500 trade professionals.
The new intiative will focus on the exchange of information and best practices on sustainable green initiatives, allowing contractors, consultants and corporate or municipal leaders to work together to find solutions to the environmental challenges at hand. An invitation is being sent to the industry to “Go Green Today!” Workshops for municipal and parks managers will outline the needs and requirements in matters of environmental policies and actions. There will be presentations from experts in the environment and sustainable development, and a dedicated exhibit area for proven, innovative green services and products. Paul Day, CDE, trade show manager for Landscape Ontario, says, “Green Forum is an initiative in keeping with the times that will be of great value to our attendees.”
“Communities in Bloom is proud to be a part of this initiative,” says Raymond Carrière, president of the national organization. “It’s a role we will play in getting the industry talking and exchanging best practices on sustainable development and environmental leadership in Canadian communities; something we have promoted since 1995.”
