Clintar announces special awards at Fanshawe
At a special presentation in October, Clintar Groundskeeping Services announced two new student awards in support of the Horticulture Technician Program at Fanshawe College. The awards program, valued at $15,000 over five years, was unveiled by Clintar President Robert Wilton and Mike Malleck, owner of the London franchise of the company.
In making the announcement, Wilton noted that the new awards, focusing specifically on workplace safety, are unique in the industry. Clintar is funding two annual awards. One will be awarded based on a safety essay competition to be judged by a panel representing members of Landscape Ontario and presented to three deserving students from the first year of the Horticulture Technician Program. The second award will be presented to two students who achieve the highest academic standing in the Landscape Equipment Operation and Workplace Safety Course.
In acknowledging the receipt of these new awards, Fanshawe College President Dr. Howard Rundle said “I am delighted to recognize both the leadership and commitment of Clintar Groundskeeping Services in exploring new opportunities that provide practical help to students in our program here at Fanshawe College.”
