This project has been on going over the past several years, focusing specifically on garden centre consumers in both the U.S. and Canada.

With industry support, Dr. Alexandra Grygorczyk and Dr. Amy Bowen of the Vineland Research and Innovation Centre and Dr. Juan Wang of the University of Guelph collected three phases of data that included:

  1. Path to purchase interviews at garden centres in 2020.
  2. Online survey of both Canadian and American consumers.
  3. In-person vs. online shopping experience interviews in 2021.

The highlights will be presented at a Garden Centres Canada webinar on February 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. EST.

Amy will take us through comparisons, and interesting findings which can help you increase the value of your plants for consumers. This presentation will help both retail garden centres and nursery growers to understand value-based pricing, inventory selection, and sharing of strategies in order to effectively market other quality features to consumers.
