| Hi Everyone,
Employee shortages are the biggest limiting factor in the growth of the landscape profession. You can be part of the solution and improve the recruitment and retention issue. If you are an employer, consider enrolling your employees in the Horticultural Technician Apprenticeship Program. The program provides a career path, shows you care about your staff, gives you a guide for upgrading skills, retains your workforce of choice, improves the image of your business, can provide EI support for eligible employees while they go to school for 12 weeks in the winter and provides financial incentives and much more. If you are an employee, you may be eligible for EI during the winter while you improve your knowledge, skills and advance your career. It can improve your chances of promotion. It will enhance your image as a certified Landscape Horticulturist (RSE) and provide financial incentives throughout your journey and upon completion. This program is a gift to employers and employees in the Landscape and Horticulture Profession. To learn more about the program please attend the in person information session at Algonquin College on September 16 from 5:00-6:00 p.m. Below are the details. The hour will include a short presentation on the Apprenticeship Program and tour of Algonquin College, located at 1385 Woodroffe Ave, Nepean, ON K2G 1V8. Please note: COVID-19 protocols will be in place and proof of vaccination is required prior to entering as required by the college. Please RSVP by Sept. 13, 2021 at 12:00 p.m. All attendees will be required to complete a COVID-19 screening as required by the college. More details will follow upon RSVP. |
