Attention nursery growers:
Zoom call on federal order restricting imports of Fragaria, Rosa and Rubus — Friday, Sept. 10, 2021 from noon to 1:00 p.m.

On Tuesday, the USDA posted a new federal order that restricts imports of Rosa, Fragaria and Rubus from Canada with requirements for certification as grown in a "pest free place of production or pest free prediction site," as well as requiring an "inspected and found free from" prior to shipment.

This is due to the confirmed presence of Strawberry Blossom Weevil (Anthonomus rubi) in parts of B.C.

CNLA is hosting a Zoom call Friday, September 10 from noon – 1 p.m. EST to share what we know about the new requirements, how they will impact outdoor nursery growers and the work CNLA and FCG are undertaking to help CFIA develop the pest modules that will be required.

Read a copy of the Federal Order and more information on this issue.
