Landscape Ontario update April 24, 2020

We are receiving strong signals from many government sources, including the Premier, that our sector may be one of the first allowed to work. Landscape firms and garden centres all over Canada are now working in every province, and most parts of the U.S. This is good news. We are expecting Ontario to open up in the very near future. Stay tuned for Doug Ford’s announcement.    

 

In the meantime we need to be ready. Building a culture of safety has never been more important. Use this pause for preparation.  

 

Landscape Ontario has collected many resources in our Hub to help you, especially the safe work protocols section. You will find sample protocols, policies and procedures, information on where you can purchase PPE, links to posters and signage and a lot more. Spend time reviewing the site, and adapt what you can to your specific operation. Let us know if there are any gaps in the material and we will try to fill them.  

 

One  consequence of being one of the first sectors allowed to work is increased public attention. Optics and company image have never been so important. Enhanced communication with your employees, customers and the general public is crucial.
