COVID-19 - Resources

Are you ready?

It finally feels like we’re on the precipice of some good news from the Premier’s Office. If you saw the press conference today and watched right until the end, you heard Robert Benzie from the Toronto Star ask Premier Ford if garden centres would be able to open. While he offered a very short, indirect answer, Ford did say there would be positive news coming in the next day or so. These comments, along with his brief comment yesterday about outdoor industries soon being able to operate, are all very promising.

Recently, we have had a few requests for comment from the CBC and the Toronto Star about how the landscape industry is responding during the pandemic. Two of our most amazing ambassadors, Mark Cullen and Frank Ferragine, were interviewed and made Landscape Ontario proud. If you didn’t get a chance to read yesterday’s article in the Toronto Star, here’s the link.

On the doorstep of some good news, now more than ever, it’s incredibly important to spend some time and think about how you will protect your staff team and your clients. The resources on the Landscape Ontario Covid-19 Resource Hub are vast, with lots of helpful ideas on ways to protect your staff and others from the virus.

We’ve heard it said often lately, this is the new normal. We have all adapted our businesses in some way. In most cases it’s forced us to take a long, hard look at what’s going on and how to improve moving forward. The new normal is being ultra sensitive to the health, safety, and well-being of our staff teams. The new normal is embracing the use of technology so that we can conduct contactless business. The new normal is preparing our businesses for many “what if?” scenarios. Adapting now is critical for our future success.
