Concrete Paver Installer Course
 for Secondary & Post-Secondary Educators


Date: Thursday- Friday January 17-18, 2019 (9am-3:30pm)

Location: Home2Suites by Hilton 8490 Parkhill Dr., Milton

Cost: $20 (for academic instructors only)

Landscape Ontario and the Horticulture Educators Association in partnership with the  Interlocking Concrete Pavement Institute (ICPI) are committed to developing a skilled workforce in the segmental pavement industry by providing training in the industries best practices and standards to academic instructors.

 

Concrete Paver Installer (CPI) course includes: 
  • Job planning and documentation
  • Job layout
  • Soil characteristics
  • Compaction
  • Base materials
  • Edge restraints
  • Bedding and joint sands
  • Selection and installation of concrete pavers
  • Safety
Teachers and instructors will spend two days with Robert Bowers (ICPI trainer) as he simplifies teaching the process of interlocking concrete pavement construction. This course has been offered to contractors for several years and is now available for schools to teach to their students. This course offers instructors training in the best practices, tools and the resources needed to train their students in this path of career exploration.

Students of the qualified teacher who complete the CPI program at a licensed school will have completed the training requirements of the ICPI Concrete Paver Installer Certification.   

Note: It is recommended teachers/instructors have some experience installing interlocking concrete pavements
