		A clear plan will help to ensure future success Last week, a special strategic planning session was held with key members of the association. Facilitated by Nathan Helder, our goal was to produce a one-page document that clearly and succinctly describes the purpose, relevancy, priority and goal of Landscape Ontario. The Congress Show Committee has already seen outstanding results using this process, and now, the association as a whole will as well. To no surprise, increasing the availability of a skilled labour force was identified as our top priority. More details will follow shortly. I urge you all to think about this priority and to bring your ideas, comments and feedback to our membership booth and various forums at Congress in January.

Risk management guidelines released for snow and ice operators
A new document has been released to help facilitate a consistent approach to risk management for common snow and ice maintenance operators. Cash advances for Canadian growers
Agricultural producers can access cash advances up to 50 per cent of the market price of greenhouse and nursery products via the government of Canada’s Advance Payments Program (APP). View an info sheet about the program at HortTrades.com.

Reduce the risk of musculoskeletal disorders

Participate in the CNLA wage survey
Members of the landscape and horticulture profession are asked to complete a wage that will help employers, employees, and government to better attract new labour to the profession. Open until the end of February, CNLA has some tips on how to best prepare the required data. Read the tips and take the survey online.
