Professional Tree Climbers to Compete
at Canatara Park in Sarnia, Ont.

Sarnia, ON (September 10, 2018) — Professional tree climbers will be competing for the title of best climber in Ontario. The Ontario Chapter of the International Society of Arboriculture (ISA Ontario) will host its annual tree climbing championship on Saturday, September 15, 2018 at Canatara Park, 1200 Chipican Lake Drive, in Sarnia.

This unique event showcases tree-climbing arborists in action demonstrating the skills required for professional tree work. Competitors will perform five different preliminary events simulating the skills required to work safely and efficiently in the trees.

The climbers who score the highest during the preliminary competition will compete in the Masters’ Challenge. The winner of this challenge will be named the Chapter Champion (male and female) and will earn the honor of representing the Ontario Chapter at the 2019 International Tree Climbing Championship (ITCC) being held in Knoxville, TN on August 9-11. The event which runs on Saturday, Sept. 15, from 7:30 a.m. until 6 p.m., is free and open to the public.
