In memoriam: Muriel Fairty
The funeral service for Muriel Isabel Fairty (nee Gibney) of Fairgreen Sod Farms, Markham, will take place at Grace Anglican Church, 19 Parkway Drive in Markham, on Fri., Dec. 30, at 11 a.m., followed by a reception in the church hall to celebrate her life. She passed away on the morning of Dec. 22, in her 88th year. She was predeceased by her husband of 59 years, Howard.
Muriel was born and raised in Bradford, until she married Howard Fairty and they began Fairgreen Sod Farms, a family-run business with a 350 acre farm in Markham on Steeles Avenue.
