Apprenticeship students available, now!

Humber College has class of women who will graduate on Fri., Aug. 28 after completing the basic level of apprenticeship training, and much more. They are required to complete a 12-week paid co-op from Aug. 31 to Nov. 20th.

There is an urgent need to place a number of the grads in a co-op position. This has been an extensive 20 week educational program for these women, and they are now ready to work.

The majority of the students are interested in maintenance or soft landscaping work for the fall. “We selected these women after three extensive interviews, and a physical stamina and endurance test,” says Terrie Greco, pre-apprentice coordinator, landscape department, Humber College. “Every week they have surpassed our expectations in terms of completing assigned outdoor project work. They are smart, detail oriented, fast workers and above all – passionate. Every teacher in the program refers to them as ‘our dream students.’

Any employers interested in giving the students an opportunity, should immediately contact Terrie Greco at Humber, 416-675-6622, ext. 2209, or terrie.greco@humber.ca.
