Humber College, along with its partners MicroSkills and Landscape Ontario, is holding a job fair as part of a fall co-op placement program. The event will take place on Mon., June 29, between 6:00 p.m. and 8:30 p.m., in the Centre for Urban Ecology in the Humber College Arboretum, North Campus, 205 Humber College Blvd. The job fair is an opportunity to meet face to face with 24 students who will complete the Basic Level of Apprentice in late August. As part of the course, they are required to complete a 12-week co-op placement, starting Aug. 31 to Nov. 20, 2009. According to Terrie Greco, an instructor at Humber, “The students are already motivated to work in the industry and will have 12 weeks training in construction, maintenance and related subjects.” She recommends that company representatives attending the job fair bring a company portfolio and business cards.
