EAB management workshop offered by City of Toronto

Industry members are invited to attend a workshop on emerald ash borer management issues in the City of Toronto


Where: Northwood Community Centre, 15 Clubhouse Court (Keele and Sheppard)



When: Tuesday, May 13 from 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m.



Who: Speakers include:


Ken Marchant, Canadian Food Inspection Agency, will cover the pest biology, its introduction and challenges with detection and the regulations covering the EAB.



Jozef Ric , of the City of Toronto will discuss Toronto’s infestation, current EAB research in Toronto, signs and symptoms of the pest and survey plans.



A representative from Toronto’s Solid Waste Management department will cover ash wood disposal in Toronto.



Joe Meating, Bioforest Technologies will discuss two potential chemical controls for EAB, TreeAzin and Ecoject.




Directions to the Northwood Community Centre: Exit Highway 401 at Keele and head north to Sheppard. Turn left (west) on Sheppard, turn right on Arleta and right on Clubhouse.
