The Canada Blooms in Ottawa Charity Golf Tournament will be held at the Carleton Golf and Yacht Club, a private 18-hole championship course well-known for its mature trees, manicured fairways and numerous ponds. It was host to the 1998 and 2002 CPGA Senior’s Championships. “Signing up for this tournament will be a great way to play an exclusive private course that most people will never get the chance to play,” says tournament chair Bruce Morton. “It will be an unsurpassed day of golf and networking while supporting a great cause.”
The day will end with a superb three-course meal, and promises a range of surprises.
“The golf tournament idea is a natural extension that supports what we are doing with Ronald McDonald House and Canada Blooms in Ottawa,” says Morton. “This is a fun social event that will help us ensure that Canada Blooms in Ottawa has a substantial amount to donate to Ronald McDonald House.”
Earlier this year, Ronald McDonald House was named the first-ever recipient of the charitable proceeds from Canada Blooms in Ottawa (slated for April 2006). “The grounds and gardens are now in need of some re-vamping, so naturally we saw the opportunity to use proceeds from Canada Blooms in Ottawa to achieve this worthwhile objective,” explains Canada Blooms in Ottawa chair Tim Kearney.
Event organizers are expecting a sell-out, so players and sponsors should register early. Hole sponsorships are available for $150 and many other sponsors are needed to provide prizes for contest holes, trophies and lunch.
