This year’s Landscape Lecture Series features two prominent landscape professionals:



Jim Vafiades, OALA

Jim Vafiades graduated with a BLA from Ryerson in 1979 and is currently a principal in the firm Vafiades Landscape Architect Inc, in London, Ontario. Jim has extensive experience in the field of urban design and has completed projects throughout Ontario and internationally on the island of St. Lucia. Recent projects include the redesign of Victoria Park, the new Covent Garden Market public square and the urban plaza at London’s new Entertainment and Sports Centre. Jim has been an instructor at Fanshawe College for 17 years, and is the current President of the Ontario Association of Landscape Architects (OALA).



Terry McGlade



After studying with John Brookes, Terry McGlade started his own design/build firm, Perennials Gardens Corp. in 1982. Terry is an Awards of Excellence winner and a frequent participant at Canada Blooms. Perennials Gardens Corp serves a client base in downtown Toronto, designing and building everything from large, high-end residential landscapes to 20 ft-by-20 ft, rooftop gardens.
