Memo: MOE blitz on lawn care signs
Memo to: Lawn Care Group
From: Tony DiGiovanni, Landscape Ontario
Re: Ministry of Environment Lawn Care Blitz
We have been informed by the Ministry of Environment that there is a regulation blitz underway to make sure that the industry complies with Ministry regulations. Over 100 abatement officers as well as a number of enforcement “swat teams” are involved.
Please make sure that you are following all regulations in order to avoid fines. Areas to be aware of include:
- Proper posting. This includes size of sign, size of lettering on the sign, distance between signs, proper information on the sign and time frames.
- Ensure that all of your staff are licensed or are carrying their Pesticide Technician Cards and logs.
- Ensure that there are proper training records for your staff in case they ask to see them in your office.
- Ensure that pesticides are not left unattended on your truck.
- Proper Pesticide Storage.
