Employers are required to provide annual WHMIS
training for their
workers. This seminar at Ottawa District Hockey Association, 1247
Kilborn Place, Ottawa, outlines the legislated requirements of this law.
Enroll your staff in this training, as they have the right to know

Windsor Chapter Awards of Distinction

CNLA needs stats to help negotiations
CNLA says it is about to begin “some serious negotiations” with merchant solutions companies that process Visa, MasterCard, and debit
cards. The national association is asking members to send in their May
and June 2010 statements. “We’re trying to determine what the membership
is currently paying now, the size of the average transaction, card mix
and a few more stats to give an accurate picture to present to these
companies to help us secure the best overall rate for the membership,”

Skilled
Trades and Career Fair, Apr. 28

The Options 2011 Skilled Trades and Career Fair is looking for
exhibitors to participate in a one-day free event from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.,
where more than 4,000 high school students and community members will
be seeking information and interactive displays about the skilled
trades, as well as general information. As part of this event, more than
200 high school seniors will be competing in 13 Skilled Trades

OPA Trails Specialist Workshop, May 11, 12

Petawawa will be the site for the Ontario Parks Association course for
municipal parks managers, supervisors, architects, planners and
volunteers to learn about design, tools, terminology and engineering

Students can apply for flowerbulb scholarship

The North American Flowerbulb Wholesalers Association is offering
students a $1,500 scholarship. The successful applicant must be a
student in a field related to flowerbulbs in some form, in the academic
year 2011-2012. All application forms must be submitted by 5 p.m. July
31, 2011, attached with a 400- to 500-word essay about flowerbulbs. The
successful applicant will be notified by Dec. 20, 2011. To find out more

Sports Turf Association offers scholarship, deadline May 1
The Sports Turf Association’s goal to encourage those considering a
career in the sports turf
industry saw the establishment of a scholarship program in 1993. Since that time, 28
scholarships have been awarded. The STA Robert W. Sheard Scholarship in
the amount of $1,000 is intended to assist students with the cost of
tuition, books and related expenses. The application deadline is May
