Sheehan’s Truck Centre in Burlington, is holding a breakfast with Santa to raise funds to support the family of a seriously ill co-worker. Nathan Diek, a diesel mechanic, was recently diagnosed with flesh-eating disease that has resulted in the amputation of one of his legs above the knee, and the removal of a large amount of tissue from his torso and arm.
Due to his strong faith, will and determination, Nathan has survived numerous surgeries, transfusions and a cardiac arrest through this ordeal. The employees at Sheehan’s Truck Centre are holding a fundraising breakfast for their colleague on Saturday, December 4 from 8-11:00 a.m. at Port Nelson United Church, 3132 South Drive, Burlington. Pancakes, bacon, sausages, coffee, tea and juice will be served, along with a visit from Santa for the children. Supporters have a chance to win raffle or door prizes as well.
Tickets are $10/adult, $5/child. Call Sheehan’s to order tickets or make a contribution, 905-632-0300.
All proceeds will go to Nathan, his wife and two small children.
