Waterloo Chapter
involved in high profile project




Members of the Waterloo Chapter of Landscape Ontario are excited about their part of the amazing project, the Rotary Dream Home. In order to see the project fulfilled, volunteers and material donations are required.



Don Prosser, a director on the chapter’s board, says, “We need our members to dig deep to put this project in the ground. We especially need skilled labour to get the project finished by the end of August.”



The following list may be subject to change, as time and budget dictate. Please consider helping out with as much time and material as you can spare. If your budget and/or timing is tight, consider helping out with material pick-up, machine time, labourers, etc. If you have any questions, or wish to discuss donating services/materials, or receive an e-mail of the design, see Don’s contact information below. DRIVEWAY:


  • Standard Pavers with 12” compacted Gran. ‘A’ Base

    • 306 sq. ft. pavers (+waste)

    • 25 cu. yds. of ‘A’

    • 2 cu. yds. fine stone chip or bedding sand

    • 55 lin. ft. edge restraint



  • Permeable Pavers with clear stone base

    • 2.5 cu. yds. fine stone chip

    • 5 cu. yds. 15-20 mm clear stone

    • 10 cu. yds. 50-75 mm clear stone

    • Approx. 1500 sq. ft. filter cloth



  • Total excavated material approx. 60 cu. yds.





PATIO:

  • Standard Pavers with 12” compacted Gran. ‘A’ Base
    • 285 sq. ft. (+waste) permeable pavers

    • 1.5 cu. yds. fine stone chip

    • 4 cu. yds. 15-20 mm clear stone

    • 6 cu. yds. 50-75 mm clear stone

    • Filter Cloth 600 sq. ft.





SHED PAD:

    • 65 sq. ft. pavers

    • 130 sq. ft. granular base (includes base for adjacent retaining wall)

    • 2 cu. yds. ‘A’

    • .75 cu. yd. fine stone chip or coarse bedding sand

    • 8 lin. ft. edge restraint, spikes






RETAINING WALLS:

  • Front: Base included with driveway

    • 51 sq. ft. of wall face (28 lin. ft x 1.8’ average)

    • 30 ft. perf. tile, 3 tubes adhesive


  • Patio Wall:

    • 17 lin. ft x 2’ high (34 sq. ft. wall face)

    • 22 lin. ft. perf. tile, 2 tubes adhesive


  • Shed Wall:

    • 28 lin. ft (base included in shed pad)

    • Approx. 70 sq. ft. wall face

    • 2 cu. yds. clear stone backfill, 30 lin. ft. perforated Big ‘O’, 3 tubes adhesive

    • 300 sq. ft. filter cloth






ROCKERY:
(all on 3” compacted ‘A’ or clear stone base and backed with filter cloth)

  • Patio: 3-4 tons 24” rockery

  • Bioswale: 6-8 ton 12” to 18” rockery

    5-7 ton 18”-24” rockery

  • SOD:
    • 2,415 sq. ft. including boulevard (not including waste)

    • Lot will be topsoiled and graded by builder.

  • PLANTING BED PREP:
    • depth rototilled in to existing soil

    • Mulch – 2000 sq. ft. @ 2” (15 cu. yds.) (includes tree pits)
