Awards of Excellence – Consumer’s Choice

The Landscape Ontario Awards of Excellence Program for the Garden Centres will take the decision-making
out of the hands of the industry judges and into the hands of the consumer.

All member garden centres will receive ballots to hand out to their customers for a
consumer awareness campaign. Customers will choose their favorite garden centre! The garden
centre with the most votes will be awarded the Consumer’s Choice Award. A random draw of submitted
ballots from the winning company will award a customer a prize of $250 worth of merchandise at
the winning garden centre. LO will pay 50% ($125).

Consumers will be able to fill out “Consumer’s Choice” nomination forms, to
be available at any member garden centre location. Members should encourage
their customers to fill out these forms to nominate their favourite place to
shop for plant material, garden giftware and tools, etc. Consumers can also
vote here online at www.loawards.com, which highlights past award-winning
project entries and to which homeowners are often referred when shopping
around for a garden centre.

The Consumer’s Choice award recipient will be announced at the Awards of
Excellence Garden Centre Ceremony, at the Toronto Congress Centre.
The Garden Centre Ceremony will be held in conjunction with
Garden Expo, the fall
buying show for the retail garden centre. This is a forum to garden centre
members and to better promote themselves directly to their peers, suppliers
and customers.
