The founders of Pan American Nursery Products Inc., John and Ted van Zanten immigrated to Canada back in 1950. Their family in Holland had been in the flower bulb growing and exporting business or many years. The lure back to their heritage began in 1958 as a Flower Bulb Wholesaler to the local British Columbia market. With the help and support of their wives Marie and Bep the journey to establishing themselves as an industry leader began.
Pan American wholesales several nursery products such as Clematis vines, flowering shrubs, small fruits, perennials, seed potatoes, onion sets, spring and fall bulbs; but their primary focus is bareroot, packaged and container grown rosebushes.
Their products are marketed under the brand names: Roses by Pan Am, Clematis by Pan Am, Perennials by Pan Am, Windmill, Nursery Pride, Flower Carpet and Dream. Constantly expanding their market share has always been Pan American’s focus, so the natural progression now encompasses a first class growing operation.
